Book Description :

Poems from The Sea of Life is a collection of forty poems written by Richard Michael Simmons and published posthumously. This first poetry book contains poems and is part one of a collection of 170 poems written from 1959-1987. These poems capture the emotions and themes of life and their interrelationship with nature. The theme of nature and sea manifest itself in Richard's writings from the inspiration of his life's experiences at sea, the dignity and respect of nature, and the social injustices of mankind during the times in which he lived. His message - adorned with the rhythm of alliteration and the metaphor of the soul - is for all times and all seasons. The art of the written word is not lost on, "the ordinary man who lives by the creative spirit, thinks in images, and dreams in fantasy . . . trying to escape the business of the everyday world." Walt Whitman. Cover: Journey #55, acrylic on canvas, by Rick Rivet

Book Description :

ÒThe sea, the sea,Ó if not my mother, has been my nurse (and anything but a dry one) from the earliest days of my recollection. I was born within the sound of old oceanÕs surges; I dabbled in salt water before I could run; and I have floated on salt water, and have been well sprinkled with it too, from that time to the present. It never occurred to me, indeed, that I could be anything but a sailor. In my innocence, I pictured a life on the ocean wave as the happiest allowed to mortals; and little did I wot of all the bumpings and thumpings, the blows and the buffetings, I was destined to endure in the course of it. Yet, even had I expected them, I feel very certain they would not have changed my wishes. No, no. I was mightily mistaken with regard to the romance of the thing, I own; but had I to begin life again, with all its dangers and hardships, still I would choose the ocean for my homeÑthe glorious navy of England for my profession. But now for my antecedents. I will not trouble the reader with many of them. I was born at the family seat in the south of Ireland. My mother died while I was very young, and my father, Colonel DÕArcy, who had seen much service in the army and had been severely wounded, after a lingering illness, followed her to the grave. During this time I was committed to the charge of Larry Harrigan, the butler and family factotum; and, in truth, I desired no better companion, for well did I love the old man. He was a seaman every inch of him, from his cherished pigtail to the end of the timber toe on which he had long stumped through the world. He had been coxswain to my maternal grandfather, a captain in the navy, who was killed in action. Larry had gone to sea with him as a lad, and they had seldom been separated. A few minutes before his commander, in the moment of victory, lost his life, Larry had his leg shot away; and on being paid off, he repaired to where my motherÕs family were residing. When my father married, he offered the old seaman an asylum beneath his roof. He certainly did not eat the bread of idleness there, for no one about the place was more generally useful. There was nothing he could not do or make, and in spite of his loss of a limb, he was as active as most people possessed with the usual complement of supporters.

Book Description :

The book The breeze of love and life has given birth to the romance of limitless love and love of immeasurable happiness. It may be a challenge for the reader to resist from falling in love after reading itno no... after feeling the breeze of love in this book. So romantic and so lovable the life is while committing to each other says the poem SEED AND SOIL. Born of love or Born out of love, we do not bid farewell, but we fair well to reach other in life is portrayed in the poem FEELINGS. Love remains a Teacher for teaching the compassion of love in infinite measures, declares NUANCES OF LOVE. All challenges in my life have become changes on your arrival says YOUR ARRIVAL. The life of Nature and the Nature of human life is captured vividly in the poem THE EMERALD VALLEY. So beautiful the valley is! I see young leaves adorning the old roots. Sex is a state of yogic bliss, It is a fusion of perspiration and respiration.. a tiring process.. to generate a generation says the poem SEX. Existing is beautiful but existing in style is attraction. A lone grass is beautiful but a grass in group is attraction says the poem GRASS. Despite my love for you all my life, you are contesting me all your life, says the VOICE OF TREE. A class always left to live with the miscarried justice, depicts the condition of the poor in the poem POOR. Left alone on the streets with the taste of tears and with the task of sadness explains the poem PATHOS OF STREET CHILDREN. Unlike the sea farer, only the voyager of great seas knows the depth of the sea and the strength of sea exhibit the poem VOYAGER. So beautiful the voyage of imagination, through the life of love in this book.

Book Description :

During the Nazi occupation of Belgium in 1942, two sisters - Leah, aged three, and her older sister, Sylvia, aged seven - were hidden in a convent cellar. Their mother reassured Sylvia that, at the end of the war, they would all be reunited. Sylvia was instructed to keep alive for both of the girls the spirit of what had been their joyful extended family life, and their Jewish background. For three years, the sisters stayed together in the cellar. Leah, the child through whose eyes this story is told, describes their constant struggle against fear and the shock of their 'abandonment'. Yet, this is also contrasted with the astonishing resilience, courage, and playfulness that enabled the sisters to give one another strength and hope. However, Leah then endured a year of solitary confinement, during which she became delirious and experienced mystical revelations that gave her new reassurance. In 1946, just a few months after liberation, Leah's father reclaimed her from the convent. He then traced Sylvia, and the two sisters were finally reunited and brought to live in London.

Book Description :

All over the world, a common question being asked by all is, Does God really love me? People often feel rejected and are terrified of God. There is bitterness in their hearts toward God, and so they avoid coming to Him. Yet the real reason is we are not truly aware of His love. Often we try to measure Gods love with the standards of human love. We ask questions such as, If God loves me, then why I am hurting? Why have I lost my job? Why is my marriage breaking? Why I am suffering with deadly sickness? Why is this happening to me? Why holocaust, sudden death, loss due to natural calamities, 9/11, and shootings in schools? Then we always try to see where God is in that situation, and we feel that if God loves me, why did I get hurt? Does God still love me when I sin? People all over the world are too guilty of what they have done or are still doing. This guilt leads them to stay away from God, since they think God is not going to accept them because of what they have done. This book is a fresh new revelation of God to answer the questions of your life.
