It does so by fostering familiarization with typical findings and clearly explaining the pattern analysis of soft tissue tumors. The book opens with an overview of diagnostic considerations and discussion of the basic concepts of diagnostic imaging studies and histopathologic examinations. Grading and staging of soft tissue sarcomasare then described. In the second part of the book, radiologic features of soft tissue tumors are reviewed in detail, based on the 2013 WHO classification system. The third part summarizes diagnostic imaging clues, including characteristic imaging findings and radiologic signs that aid in specific diagnosis and differential diagnosis. The book closes by presenting 30 typical cases of soft tissue tumors, with questions, answers, and commentary, in order to help readers to consolidate what they have learned and to hone their diagnostic reasoning skills.

Book Description :

This book provides an up-to-date and comprehensive primer on image-guided interventions for cancer. Image-guided interventional oncology is gaining popularity as it is a minimally invasive and more precisely targeted approach that both proves more effective and results in fewer side effects. This book’s aim is to provide a clinical guide to interventional oncology for the entire oncology team. Chapters are approached with the same interdisciplinary perspective that is used in the care itself, with each chapter written by an interventional radiologist with contributions from medical, surgical and/or radiation oncologists. Chapters cover the major cancers that can benefit from interventional oncology treatment (including lung, liver, kidney, and bone), as well as some of the physics and physiology behind these interventional modalities. This is an ideal guide for interventional radiologists, medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, as well as relevant trainees.

Book Description :

This encompassing book is designed to contribute to a teamwork approach by promoting understanding between radiologists and clinical oncologists. All of the currently available imaging modalities of relevance in clinical oncology are covered, and the presentation of a broad spectrum of oncologic diseases (of most organ systems) on these modalities is discussed and illustrated. The role of multiparametric and multimodality imaging approaches providing both morphologic and functional information is considered in detail, and careful attention is paid to the latest developments in higher field (3T) MR imaging and advanced MR techniques such as diffusion-weighted imaging, diffusion tensor imaging, perfusion-weighted imaging and spectroscopy. The major challenge of incorporating progress in quantitative imaging technology into radiotherapy treatment planning, guidance, and monitoring is also addressed. This book will assist in refining the treatment approach in various oncologic diseases and organ systems based on specific imaging features. It will be of value to radiologists, oncologists, and other medical professionals involved in the diagnosis and treatment of oncology patients.
