In recent years, the physics community has experienced a revival of interest in spin effects in solid state systems. On one hand, the solid state systems, particularly, semiconductors and semiconductor nanosystems, allow us to perform benchtop studies of quantum and relativistic phenomena. On the other hand, this interest is supported by the prospects of realizing spin-based electronics, where the electron or nuclear spins may play a role of quantum or classical information carriers. This book looks in detail at the physics of interacting systems of electron and nuclear spins in semiconductors, with particular emphasis on low-dimensional structures. These two spin systems naturally appear in practically all widespread semiconductor compounds. The hyperfine interaction of the charge carriers and nuclear spins is particularly prominent in nanosystems due to the localization of the charge carriers, and gives rise to spin exchange between these two systems and a whole range of beautiful and complex physics of manybody and nonlinear systems. As a result, understanding of the intertwined spin systems of electrons and nuclei is crucial for in-depth studying and controlling the spin phenomena in semiconductors. The book addresses a number of the most prominent effects taking place in semiconductor nanosystems including hyperfine interaction, nuclear magnetic resonance, dynamical nuclear polarization, spin-Faraday and spin-Kerr effects, processes of electron spin decoherence and relaxation, effects of electron spin precession mode-locking and frequency focussing, as well as fluctuations of electron and nuclear spins.

Group theoretical concepts elucidate fundamental physical phenomena, including excitation spectra of quantum systems and complex geometrical structures such as molecules and crystals. These concepts are extensively covered in numerous textbooks. The aim of the present monograph is to illuminate more subtle aspects featuring group theory for quantum mechanics, that is, the concept of dynamical symmetry. Dynamical symmetry groups complement the conventional groups: their elements induce transitions between states belonging to different representations of the symmetry group of the Hamiltonian. Dynamical symmetry appears as a hidden symmetry in the hydrogen atom and quantum rotator problem, but its main role is manifested in nano and meso systems. Such systems include atomic clusters, large molecules, quantum dots attached to metallic electrodes, etc. They are expected to be the building blocks of future quantum electronic devices and information transmitting algorithms. Elucidation of the electronic properties of such systems is greatly facilitated by applying concepts of dynamical group theory.

The scopes of this research work are divided into four main parts. The work scope in this research begins with the design of the Interdigitated electrode (IDE). The mask will be designed by using AutoCAD software and the size of the mask must be in 100 nm. In the second scope, the fabrication and optimization of the Zinc Oxide nanowire based sensor is conducted though deposition of zinc oxide by using spin coating on the IDE electrode and etching method with suitable parameters. Intially, the zinc oxide wire is deposited and the nano wires are then grown vertically on the ZnO wire surface simultaneously. Next, the third scope, morphological characterize of the Zinc Oxide nanowire is conducted by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and high power microscopy (HPM) to ensure that the nanowire is grown is in correct orientation. Electrical characterization on the fabricated zinc oxide nanowire biosensor is conducted by current-voltage test, and resistivity test. This is to validate the electrical performances of the zinc oxide nanowire biosensor. Finally, validation of the fabricated zinc oxide nanowire biosensor performances on DNA binding is conducted via electrical measurement by using Semiconductor parametric analyzer (SPA) and IV-CV method. The selectivity and sensitivity of the biosensor device is also examined.
