The interaction of metal with its environment that results in its chemical alteration is called metallic corrosion. According to the literature, corrosion is classified to two types: uniform and localized corrosion. Intervention in either in the alloy environment or in the alloy structure can provide the corrosion protection of metallic materials. Furthermore, the interference in the metal alloy environment can be conducted with the utilization of cathodic or anodic protection via the corresponding inhibitors. Therefore, the most common categorization is cathodic, anodic, and mixed-type inhibitors, taking into account which half-reaction they suppress during corrosion phenomena. The majority of the organic inhibitors are of mixed type and perform through chemisorption. The presence of actives centres in the molecular structure has a major effect on the inhibition efficiency and consequently on the phenomenon of adsorption on some metals surface. The inhibition effect mainly depends on some physicochemical and electronic properties of the inhibitor which relate to its functional groups, steric effects, electronic density of donor atoms, and orbital character of donating electrons. Corrosion inhibition of has been elucidated by means of theory DFT-derived reactivity indexes. The calculated quantum chemical parameters have already proven to be very useful in determining the molecular structure as well as elucidating the electronic structure and reactivity. Thus, it has become a common practice to carry out quantum chemical calculations in corrosion inhibition studies.

These are main disadvantages of mild steel and zinc. The cause of corrosion of mild steel and zinc and the corrosion control is having critical fundamental, industrial and academic concern .In the existed literature various type of various research groups developed inhibitors. The developed inhibitors, few of them satisfied all the requirements of the industries and society. Even though they are toxic in nature, they aren’t showing inhibition at high temperature. In addition, no one has discussed complete mechanism of corrosion inhibition. In the present study, more attention is given to developing eco-friendly inhibitors. The complete mechanism of inhibition action of these inhibitors were evaluated by using practical and theoretical studies like weight loss, polarization, impedance, activation parameters, thermodynamic parameters. Scanning electron microscope is used to do morphological studies of the inhibitor. The quantum chemical studies are carried out to correlate the theoretical studies with experimental work of corrosion inhibitors. All the results were agreeing with each other. All the developed inhibitors find applications in industries.
