Book Description :

A hardcover of the bestselling edition of the most important non-canonical apocalyptic text. This superlative translation by noted scholar and theologian R. H. Charles is one of the best and most complete available. The introduction by esoteric bookseller and antiquarian bookseller R. A. Gilbert helps place The Book of Enoch in historical context and dispels many of the dubious interpretations previously attributed to it. The Book of Enoch’s vision of the Apocalypse takes a very different view than that of western Christians, although it is part of the biblical canon for Ethiopian and Eritrean Christians. According to Enoch, the wicked shall be cast out and the good will realize a literal heaven on Earth. The prophecies also contain the lost “Book of Noah,” early references to a messiah as “Christ,” and an accounting of the angels and subsequent creation of demons.

Book Description :

The Book of Enoch is an ancient Jewish religious work, traditionally ascribed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. It is not part of the biblical canon as used by Jews, apart from Beta Israel. It is regarded as canonical by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, but no other Christian group. Estimated to have been written around 300 BC, this ancient Jewish religious work is ascribed by tradition to Enoch. The book follows Enoch as he travels through Heaven and expands more thoroughly, than the Book of Genesis, on the early kingdom of Israel and the events leading up to the great flood of Noah. With evil everywhere around, the Apocalyptists saw no hope for the world as it was, it must be destroyed if the good were ever to triumph.

Book Description :

Clearly the most important book left out of the Bible. It seems to have predated everything in the New Testament, having been written almost entirely in the second century. Charles said, The influence of I Enoch on the New Testament has been greater than that of all the other apocryphal and pseudepigraphical books put together. All the notes of Charles are included here, along with a list of every known translation and how they contributed to our knowledge. This is by far the most thorough and scholarly edition which every serious researcher and student should have. It first appeared in 1912. Five years later, in 1917, the slimmer, edited version replaced this book, making it virtually impossible to finduntil now.

Book Description :

Fifty years after James Bruce brought a copy of the Book of Enoch, found in Ethiopia, to England, Richard Laurence made a first modern translation. Later, R.H. Charles made another translation using some Greek excerpts, and more Ethiopian texts. Then recently, Michael A Knibb, using many texts, and partial texts, put together an ?adequate' translation. Yet, all of these translations are rough, obscure, and confusing to Christians of today. The Dead Sea Scrolls contained many copies and partial copies of the Book of Enoch, In the Dead Sea scrolls, there were found 17 copies. Comparitively, there were 30 copies of Psalms, 25 copies of Deuteronomy, 19 of Isaiah, 15 of Genesis and Exodus, 14 Of Jubilees. Jude validated The Book Of Enoch with his quote from it. Using all of the sources now available, along with an in-depth study of book, I have prepared this paraphrase/translation. Along with such, I have included an commentary to help in its comparison with the Bible. John D. Ladd was raised the son of an Assemblies of God pastor. He attended Northeast Bible College, in Pennsylvania, and later, Malone College, in Canton, Ohio. He pastored for many years, was ordained in the Assemblies of God, but later left to pastor independent churches. Preferring teaching to preaching, he has spent many years studying, reading books from the early church period, and translating\paraphrasing them for ease of use by Christians of today. This book of Enoch's has been translated, paraphrased, and now is being given commentary, to compare it with the Bible's message, to test it by the Word of God. How does it compare? Is it in agreement with the message and prophetic teachings of the Bible?

The Book of Enoch is an ancient Jewish religious work, traditionally ascribed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. It is not part of the biblical canon as used by Jews, apart from Beta Israel. It is regarded as canonical by the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, but no other Christian group. The older sections (mainly in the Book of the Watchers) are estimated to date from about 300 BC, and the latest part (Book of Parables) probably was composed at the end of the 1st century BC. It is wholly extant only in the Ge'ez language, with Aramaic fragments from the Dead Sea Scrolls and a few Greek and Latin fragments. For this and other reasons, the traditional Ethiopian view is that the original language of the work was Ge'ez, whereas non-Ethiopian scholars tend to assert that it was first written in either Aramaic or Hebrew; E. Isaac suggests that the Book of Enoch, like the Book of Daniel, was composed partially in Aramaic and partially in Hebrew

Book Description :

This is a NEW (2010) easy-to-read translation by ancient languages scholar Dr. A. Nyland and is NOT one of the many Public Domain translations of Enoch NOR IS IT A REWORDED PUBLIC DOMAIN VERSION of Enoch. Great advances which have been made in ancient word meaning in the last twenty years were unknown to the translators of the public domain versions of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. There are copious background notes and cross references to Bible verses. This book is an easy to read translation with cross references and notes.Despite the current trend for non-translators to reproduce public domain versions (both as is and disguised by slight rewording) as a commercial venture, be aware that such public domain versions do not take advantage of recent scholarship in word meaning or any corrections in translation. This new translation by Dr. A. Nyland contains all three books of Enoch:1 Enoch (Also called The Ethiopic Book of Enoch)2 Enoch (Also called The Slavonic Book of Enoch, The Secrets of Enoch). This volume contains the extended version of 2 Enoch, The Exaltation of Melchizedek.3 Enoch (Also called The Hebrew Book of Enoch)Note that this is Dr. Nyland's translation and NOT a public domain work.1 Enoch tells of the Watchers, a class of angel, who taught humans weapons, spell potions, root cuttings, astrology, astronomy, and alchemies. The Watchers also slept with human women and produced the Nephilim. For this, they were imprisoned and cast into Tartarus. This is also mentioned in the New Testament. In 2 Enoch, two angels take Enoch through the 7 heavens. This volume contains the extended version of 2 Enoch, The Exaltation of Melchizedek. In 3 Enoch, Enoch ascends to heaven and is transformed into the angel Metatron. This is about the Merkabah and is of interest to Kabbalists. People interested in Theosophy and Rosicrucianism will find this book invaluable. The Complete Books of Enoch is also an invaluable reference for those interested in Theology and it is also a valuable Christian reference.Dr. A. Nyland is an ancient language scholar and lexicographer who served as Faculty at the University of New England, Australia. Dr. Nyland is also the translator of "The Source New Testament with Extensive Notes on Greek Word Meaning," "The Book of Jubilees," "The Gospel of Thomas," the ancient Hittite "Kikkuli Text," and "The Psalms: Translation with Notes."

Book Description :

The Holy Spirit inspired Jude to quote Enoch for a reason. The Ancient Book of Enoch opens by addressing those in the Tribulation period. It contains numerous prophecies about the flood and fire judgments, and the two comings of the Messiah. It teaches that the Messiah is the Son of God and that He will shed His blood to redeem us and even predicts the generation that this would occur! The book of Enoch prophesies a window of time in which the Second Coming would occur and prophesies that there will be twenty-three Israeli Prime Ministers ruling in fifty-eight terms from AD 1948 to the beginning of the Tribulation period, and much more. Even though it prophecies that the Bible would be created and says we will be judged by our obedience to the Bible, it also makes it clear that this book is not to be added to the Canon of Scripture. The Ancient Book of Enoch recounts the history of the angels that fell in the days of Jared, Enoch's father. It testifies to their marriages with human women and their genetic experiments. This commentary includes a previously unknown chapter from the Dead Sea Scrolls that actually explains how they did their genetic tampering. The commentary is from a fundamentalist Christian view, brought to you by Biblefacts Ministries, biblefacts.org.

Book Description :

The Book of Enoch, traditionally ascribed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah, is probably the most notable apocalyptic work outside the canonical Scriptures even though a short section of 1 Enoch (1 En 1:9) is quoted in the New Testament (Letter of Jude 1:14-15). It may also be significant that the attribution "Enoch the Seventh from Adam" is apparently itself a section heading taken from 1 Enoch (1 En 60:8, Jude 1:14a) and not from Genesis. This book was omitted from the bible by the Bishop's Conference at Nicea (currently named Iznik, Bursa province, Turkey) in 325AD for being too revelatory and evocative for the people of the time to comprehend. Even so, it has survived down the ages. While the work is scriptural in nature, many modern day fantasy writers have used, and continue to use, the content of the Book of Enoch as inspiration for their works. The Apocalyptic Literature, as distinct from the Apocalyptic Movement, began to come into existence about the period 200-150 B.C. and the earliest portions of the Book of Enoch belongs to this period. The Book of Enoch is considered as Scripture in the Epistle of Barnabas (16:4) and by many of the early Church Fathers, who wrote that the Book of Enoch had been rejected by the Jews because it contained prophecies pertaining to Christ. However, later Fathers denied the canonicity of the book, and some even considered the letter of Jude uncanonical because it refers to an "apocryphal" work. By the 4th century, it was mostly excluded from Christian lists of the Biblical canon, and it was omitted from the canon by most of the Christian church (the Ethiopian Orthodox Church being an exception). Works of an Apocalyptic character, continued to be written for about three centuries; the Second (Fourth) Book of Esdras, one of the most remarkable Apocalypses, belongs to the end of the first Christian century, approximately. There are Apocalypses of later date; but the real period of the Apocalyptic Literature is from about 200 B.C. to about A.D. 100; its beginnings date, therefore, from a time prior to that great landmark in Jewish history, the Maccabæan Era. Book Description :

This is a reprint of the Apocryphal Book of Enoch the Prophet which was first discovered in Abyssinia in the year 1773 by a Scottish explorer named James Bruce. In 1821 The Book of Enoch was translated by Richard Laurence and published in a number of successive editions, culminating in the 1883 edition. One of the main influences from the book is its explanation of evil coming into the world with the arrival of the "fallen angels." Enoch acts as a scribe, writing up a petition on behalf of these fallen angels, or fallen ones, to be given to a higher power for ultimate judgment. Christianity adopted some ideas from Enoch, including the Final Judgment, the concept of demons, the origins of evil and the fallen angels, and the coming of a Messiah and ultimately, a Messianic kingdom. The Book of Enoch was ultimately removed from the Bible and banned by the early church. Copies of it were found to have survived in Ethiopia, and fragments in Greece and Italy. Like the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hammadi Library, the Book of Enoch, translated from the original Ethiopian Coptic script, is a rare resource that was suppressed by the early church and thought destroyed. Today it is back in print in this expanded, deluxe edition, using the original 1883 revised text.

Book Description :

Shortly after accepting the flat earth as a model for the world, I decided to revisit the Book of the Courses of the Heavenly Luminaries to see if my new understanding would somehow mirror what Enoch was sharing as a motion for the sun and moon. As I began to read chapters 71-82, I found to my utter amazement that I was able to grasp those passages. I knew then that the vision that the angel Uriel had shown to Enoch could only be deciphered if one were to imagine EnochÕs description of the revolution of the sun and the moon. As seen from above the flat circular plane of the earth as described by Isaiah; and that Enoch must have been taken up to perhaps where Polaris is, centered directly above the North Pole, and while looking down at the backdrop of the earth, was instructed on the motions of both the sun and moon. Without such conception, it is in my opinion impossible to apply these descriptions to the model of the earth as a spherical planet.
