Book Description :

Debt, uncontrolled, can be devastating to ones life. A thriving business whose debt has gone unchecked, can find itself suddenly facing chapter 13 or closing it's doors. Statistics show that a once happy and fulfilling marriage can grow cold and eventually end in divorce when debt is not handled properly. I have heard of people who have committed suicide because they had gotten so far into debt, that they felt death was the only way out. Some handle debt better than others. The reasons can be complex. I have tried in this book to make the ridding of debt from your life simple and clear. I take a focused look at the psychological root cause of why one falls back into debt despite great efforts to get out. This gives merit to the age old saying: "The rich gets richer, and the poor gets poorer." We examine the bible scripture that corrects this dilemma where it instructs us to renew our minds. The precise meaning is to renew our mindset. See Ephesians 4 verse 23. I found the term: Debt free too vague for my use. I had fifteen credit cards, at the max, and a mortgage about to fall behind. I found out that by saying out loud what I wanted to happen yielded results. Saying that my J.C. Penny card was paid off was something I could see and do. Saying: "My home is paid for" was something I could see and get motivated to do. By doing this with all fifteen credit cards and my house, I did obtain debt freedom. Treat your goal of (Paid for) like a puzzle. See the big picture , but focus on putting it together piece by piece.

Book Description :

The first book in twenty-five years from Jerry Seinfeld features his best work across five decades in comedy. Since his first performance at the legendary New York nightclub “Catch a Rising Star” as a twenty-one-year-old student in autumn of 1975, Jerry Seinfeld has written his own material and saved everything. “Whenever I came up with a funny bit, whether it happened on a stage, in a conversation, or working it out on my preferred canvas – the big yellow legal pad – I kept it in one of those old-school accordion folders,” Seinfeld writes. “So I have everything I thought was worth saving from forty-five years of hacking away at this for all I was worth.” For this book, Jerry Seinfeld has selected his favourite material, organised decade by decade. In page after hilarious page, one brilliantly crafted observation after another, readers will witness the evolution of one of the great comedians of our time and gain new insights into the thrilling but unforgiving art of writing stand-up comedy.

Book Description :

The real story behind “ex-gay” ministries and reparative therapy! Nationally known activist Wayne Besen spent four years examining the phenomenon of “ex-gay” ministries and reparative therapies—interviewing leaders, attending conferences, and visiting ministries undercover as he accumulated hundreds of hours of research. The result is Anything but Straight: Unmasking the Scandals and Lies Behind the Ex-Gay Myth, a groundbreaking exposé of the controversial movement that's revered by independent religious groups and reviled by gay and lesbian organizations. The book presents a historical perspective on the dispute, examining “ex-gay” groups such as Love In Action, Exodus International, Homosexuals Anonymous, and profiling a cast of characters that includes Pat Robertson, the Rev. Jerry Falwell, “ex-gay” poster boy John Paulk, National Association of Research and Therapy of Homosexuality activist Richard Cohen, and psychiatrist Dr. Robert Spitzer. An in-depth, well-researched, and historically significant account, Anything but Straight is full of startling facts and alarming surprises. The original content and novel material in the book includes: a first-ever comprehensive history of the “ex-gay” ministries and “reparative therapy” the inside story of the night the author photographed “ex-gay” poster boy John Paulk inside a gay bar the author's discovery that Anne Paulk lied about being a lesbian and has admitted to having a strong attraction to men BEFORE she became “ex-gay” previously undisclosed bizarre techniques used by the “ex-gay” ministries and “reparative therapists” the author's exclusive in-depth interviews with leading “ex-gay” leaders—they disclose their deepest secrets, hidden desires, and true motivations an extraordinary new study that shows that most “ex-gay” leaders have suffered from substance abuse or severe emotional problems—while many “ex-gay” leaders claim they were “unhappy being gay,” this report helps prove that their dissatisfactions came not from their homosexuality, but from poor life choices and irresponsible behavior new revelations that one of the nation's leading “reparative therapists” hailed from a secretive cult that was scandalized for practicing nude therapy From the author: Through my extensive experience, I have learned that the extraordinary claims made by the “ex-gay” groups are without merit and the efficacy of their programs is dubious at best and harmful at worst . . . One frequent question I get is, “Why can't gay activists simply leave 'ex-gay' groups alone and let them go about their business?” This is exactly what happened for nearly three decades while “ex-gay” groups labored in near anonymity. But all this recently changed when the “ex-gay” groups intricately aligned themselves with the anti-gay political agenda of the Religious Right. With “ex-gays” added to their arsenal, the Right could disingenuously claim to love gay people and offer them “hope for change,” while simultaneously fighting for punitive legislation. Their insidious message: Since gays and lesbians can change, there is no need for laws that protect them against arbitrary prejudice. Anything but Straight: Unmasking the Scandals and Lies Behind the Ex-Gay Myth is an essential read for activists on both sides of the “ex-gay” fence, family members of gays and lesbians, Gay, Bisexual, Lesbian, and Transgender church members, psychiatric and social science professionals, and anyone who has dealt with “coming out” issues. An appendix of resources and a helpful bibliography make it easy to find additional information on this fascinating topic.

Book Description :

Do you ever wonder what you can do as a white person to help stop racism? You would love to see people of all races treated with fairness, dignity, and respect. You want to see our society healed of racial problems. Yet at the same time, you cringe at the term “white privilege.” You feel like you’re stuck taking the blame for a lot of things you didn’t do. That’s a mental and spiritual trap. Much of the narrative on race in the US has the effect of silencing white males on the issue of racism, pushing them into a shell of inaction. That has to stop. Racism is evil. It is an issue of spiritual warfare that cannot be conquered by having a secular mindset such as identity politics. In May of 2020, John Covington felt inspired to write a book about racism. He started by posing this question to many of his black friends: If you could snap your fingers and make it happen, what would you want white men to understand about racism? Many of the answers surprised him, and they will likely surprise you too. Don’t Do Anything Stupid addresses some of the things that we need to stop doing as white folks. This book will challenge the way you think about the issue of race relations in America. It will impact the way you view yourself and how you view others. But most importantly, this book will get you moving toward solutions.
